About us

Weco Manufacturing Limited started as Curtain Services in Christchurch in 1960.  Over the years, Curtain Services expanded and in April 1973, Weco Manufacturing Limited was founded.

Now owned by GBHC Curtains Limited and based at 181 Maces Road, Bromley, Christchurch, the factory is a total of 3,000 Square metres, arguably the largest specialist contract Soft Furnishing making facility in New Zealand, employing approximately 50 staff.

To accommodate the ever-increasing demand, new systems have recently been implemented such as work flow databases and a customer login facility so customers can now track their orders in real time.

In 2022, significant investment was made in new machinery and automation, including the installation of a Vertical Cutter and Auto Pleater meaning we are now able to pleat a single curtain in 4 minutes! This new machinery has led to production efficiencies and improved turnaround times and quality.

These recent factory enhancements alongside our experienced staff members enable Weco to remain a leading supplier providing Curtains, Roman Blinds and Soft Furnishings (Cushions and Tie Backs) through the Retail Trade and Interior Designers along with the Commercial Trade through Architects, and Construction companies all over New Zealand.
